Three Libertarians Win in Local Elections
November 12 , 2003

Three Iowa Libertarians earned seats in the local elections held last week.

Bill Lynn was elected to the position of Alderman (5th Ward) in Davenport. In a close race, Lynn defeated a two-term incumbent, earning 902 votes (50.08%).

Roger Fritz was re-elected to the city council in Roland, Iowa, finishing second of four contenders. The top three were elected. Fritz won 206 votes (29.6%), right behind the top finisher, who won 208 votes (29.9%).

In Fairfield, Christy Welty won an unopposed race for city council (3rd ward). Welty received 94 votes (82%) with the other 21 votes (18%) going to write-ins.
