New LP Executive Director is from Iowa
June 15, 2003

The Libertarian National Committee has hired Joe Seehusen as their new executive director. Seehusen comes to the party with a background in business, media, and politics, and ran for U.S. Congress in 2000 from Iowa's Third District. He started work in the national office at the end of May. Originally from Baltimore, Seehusen recently relocated there with his wife and daughters.

For several years, Seehusen was the producer and host of Straight Talk Radio, a weekly public affairs show broadcast on KMCD Radio (AM 1570) in Fairfield, Iowa, "The Talk of Southeast Iowa." Seehusen maintains his ties with Iowa as he chairs the Board of Trustees for The Institute for Creative Arts in Iowa, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Fairfield (IA) Entrepreneurs Association Organization, a 200-member business organization.
