Libertarians elect state party officers

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Libertarians gathered for their state
convention Saturday, April 2, at the Marriott hotel in Cedar Rapids to
elect state officers and members of the executive committee.
Officers and representatives were elected to two year terms by
unanimous acclamation of the entire slate. These are the new officers
of the state party.
Chair - Christy Ann Welty of Fairfield
Deputy Chair of Membership and Development - James Clark of North Liberty
Deputy Chair of Advocacy and Public Policy - Rich Moroney of Davenport
Deputy Chair of Campaigns and Elections - Ed Wright of Guthrie Center
Secretary - Kevin Litten of Cedar Rapids
Treasurer - Tim Hird of Des Moines
Directly after the convention adjourned, the executive committee met
and selected Rich Moroney of Davenport from among the three deputy
chairs to serve as vice-chair.
The executive committee is composed of state officers and regional
representatives: one representative for each of Iowa's five
Congressional districts and two at-large representatives.
At-Large - Heather Clark of North Liberty
At-Large - Roger Leahy of Fairfield
District 1 - Mark Nelson of Davenport
District 2 - Pam Schulte-Wagner of Oxford
District 3 - Jason Gross of Urbandale
District 4 - Jim Roach of Ames
District 5 - Jeremy Oehlert of Osceola
Richard Campagna of Iowa City, Libertarian candidate for
Vice-President of the United States in 2004, will serve as the state
party's Ambassador, a post newly created and customized for his
unique abilities and experience.
